New Legislation in Idaho Mark Johnson Director of the Idaho Board of Pharmacy was instrumental in changing Idaho State Code concerning Legend Drug Disposal.  Idaho Code 54-1732 Section 1.5 was signed into law on July 1, 2010.  This new change expands options to Idaho public and private entities to develop safe and effective disposal practices for unused and expired medication.  The new text is based on Federal Legislation

Senate Bill 3397 passed and is sitting in the White House as of 9/30/10.

 

New Public Law 111-273 the off shoot of S. 3397 “The Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010” provides assistance to the Long Term Care industry.
